Under Toyota China’s RCE localization system, the blockbuster BEV model bZ3X was born, raising our expectations for the next-generation Corolla.
Holding two of Toyota’s global best-sellers—the RAV4 and the Corolla—FAW Toyota hopes to regain the market scale and position it deserves by enhancing localization during their model updates.
However, with the release of the new Corolla’s official registration information, those high hopes for this strategic model—whose global cumulative sales exceed 50 million—have been shattered. Personally redesigned by FAW Toyota, the new Corolla has finally diverged from the global version.
The new Corolla’s front end adopts a design almost identical to the Prius. Its wheelbase has been extended by 50 mm to 2,750 mm, and overall length by 75 mm to 4,710 mm, making it the longest Corolla in history. This likely uses the same platform as the FAW Toyota Allion, effectively creating a long-wheelbase Corolla.
