觥为中国古代的盛酒器,其特征为器腹椭圆,底有圈足或四足,前有短流后有颦( pan ),盖作有角兽首形,盛行于商末周初。《诗经》中屡见咒觥一词:"咒( si )觥其献( qiu ),旨酒思柔""跻彼公堂,称彼咒觥,万寿无疆"。
Gong was a wine vessel in ancient China . It normally has an oval body and a round foot or four feet . There are a short spout in the front and a pan handle at the back . Its lid is shaped like a beast with horns . This type of wine vessel was quite popular in the late Shang and the early Zhou . Gong vessel appeared quite often in the Book of Songs , an
97 ancient Chineseic , which is considered a symbol of longevity .
